Institutional Committees and Governance Structure

1. Apex Body – College Council

The College Council serves as the apex academic and administrative body of the institution. It is constituted as per the guidelines of the Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH), under the leadership of the Advisor to the College, with the Principal and Heads of Departments as members.

The Council convenes periodically to deliberate on:

  • Curriculum design and academic training programmes
  • Maintenance of discipline among students and staff
  • Organization of co-curricular and extracurricular activities
  • Monitoring and enhancement of teaching and learning standards

Its primary objective is to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of all academic and administrative processes within the institution.

2. Academic Committee

The Academic Committee functions under the leadership of the Principal and Advisor. It comprises all Heads of Teaching Departments, the Senior Medical Officer (SMO), and the Academic In-charge.

The Committee is responsible for organizing and monitoring:

  • Departmental meetings, grand rounds, and statistical reviews
  • Clinical discussions and research review sessions
  • Academic planning, implementation, and evaluation as per the schedule approved by the Apex Body

Each Head of Department ensures the execution of academic programmes in accordance with the prescribed timetable. Monthly review meetings are conducted to assess progress and maintain quality standards.

The Coordinator, SMO, and Academic In-charge jointly oversee and coordinate academic and clinical training activities in consultation with the respective Heads of Departments.

3. Disciplinary Committee

The Disciplinary Committee operates under the leadership of the Principal, Advisor, and Executive Officer, along with the Senior Medical Officer, Academic In-charge, Lady's Hostel Matron, and Men's Hostel Warden.

The Committee is responsible for maintaining discipline across the college and hospital. Its functions include:

  • Conducting inquiries into disciplinary matters involving students and staff
  • Initiating appropriate corrective measures and imposing penalties where necessary

Any modification or relaxation of decisions rests with the discretion of the Management.

4. Academic In-charge

Each undergraduate batch is assigned an Academic In-charge on a class-wise basis.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and coordinating academic activities such as tutorials, seminars, educational tours, and internal assessments
  • Monitoring student attendance, leave records, and overall conduct
  • Communicating with parents regarding academic progress and discipline
  • Coordinating with Heads of Departments for effective implementation of teaching and evaluation

The Academic In-charge plays a crucial role in ensuring academic excellence and maintaining discipline.

5. Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

The IQAC is responsible for continuous monitoring, evaluation, and enhancement of academic and administrative quality. It ensures adherence to regulatory standards and fosters a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

6. Pharmacovigilance Committee

This Committee monitors and evaluates adverse drug reactions and safety concerns related to homoeopathic and allied medicines used within the institution, ensuring safe and rational therapeutic practices.

7. Hospital Infection Control Committee (HICC)

The HICC oversees infection prevention and control measures within the hospital. It formulates policies, monitors infection rates, conducts audits and training programmes, and ensures compliance with established infection control standards.

8. Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee

This Committee ensures a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment by preventing sexual harassment and addressing grievances in a fair, confidential, and sensitive manner, in accordance with institutional and legal guidelines.

9. Biomedical Waste Management Committee

This Committee supervises the proper segregation, treatment, and disposal of biomedical waste generated by the institution. It ensures compliance with environmental and health safety regulations, along with proper documentation and staff training.

10. Vaccination Committee

The Vaccination Committee ensures that all students, staff, and clinical trainees are appropriately immunized (e.g., Hepatitis, Tetanus). It also maintains systematic vaccination records as part of institutional health and safety protocols.

11. Anti-Ragging Committee

This Committee implements anti-ragging regulations in accordance with statutory guidelines. It actively prevents ragging through awareness programmes, continuous monitoring, and prompt redressal mechanisms to ensure student safety and well-being.

12. College Council (Reaffirmation)

The College Council functions as the central governing body, comprising the Advisor, Principal, Heads of Departments, and senior faculty members. It meets regularly to deliberate on academic policies, curriculum development, training programmes, discipline, and overall institutional growth.
